BackChannel — tax platform

Brazilian fiscal engine for a B2B marketplace

Brazil is replacing ICMS, ISS, PIS and COFINS with IBS and CBS, phased in over years — so the rules a marketplace must apply change while it operates. I build the fiscal layer that absorbs that: tax calculation, NF-e issuance and document validation, with a per-transaction audit trail, and the tax domain modelled in Postgres rather than encoded in application logic.

Curbo

Multi-country automotive marketplace

Founding engineer on a four-year NestJS / GraphQL federation backend across five countries (DO / CO / MX / BR / AR). Built the systems behind the storefront — vehicle listing and checkout, test-drive booking, inspection workflows and Sell My Car, the flow that let owners sell their own vehicles — and led the restructure campaign that split 11 live modules. The company wound down operations in late 2023; I stayed through the transition to Feb 2024.
